Evidence Based Practice 8 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
I am currently employed as an Immunization Nurse at a local health dept. I am also pursuing my MSN. I am trying to put together a presentation of evidence based practice for a class and want to address the vibration device (Buzzy) and pain reduction for needle procedures. I am unable to locate the article you have written for the Pediatric Emergency Journal since it is still in press. Is there anyway you can email me the article to use in my research? I am simultaneously trying to get the "powers that be" to consider making Buzzy a tool in our Immunization clinic. But I think I must present EBP for the idea to fly. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bonnie

Hi, Bonnie!

If you send me an email to info@mmjlabs.com I can send you the background and significance section for Buzzy which not only supports studies of Buzzy but also builds the case for why cold and vibration together work for pain.

The full text of the article I can't send, but the data is in the poster which is on our research section as presented to the IASP. Same data, different reference but both peer reviewed.

Hope this helps,

Dr. Amy
