Pain is important to warn our body of danger.  While needles are important tools to keep us healthy, shots and sticks shouldn't have to hurt.  You can learn natural pain relief using mind powers to deal with pokes, or bring a Buzzy^® to take the sting out of shots.

Do You Get More Than Your Share of Needle Sticks?

Sometimes kids have illnesses that make them need a lot of needle pokes.  While THIS IS NOT FAIR, kids like you grow a special skill for coping, gain inner strength, and have a secret club of other kids around the world with the same situation.  When you meet other kids who have a lot of professional procedures like you, you will find you have a shared code, and you'll understand each other like no one outside can.

What Helps?

Sharing what helps YOU can make you and other kids feel better.  Everyone has times when they're mad and NEVER want another needle stick because it's just not fair, and times when the whole world feels gray and boring and sad.  Just wait!  These times always pass.  Pretty soon you'll have times when you realize you're tougher than most kids, and times when you'll feel strong enough to help someone else.

• Diabetes: Children with Diabetes is a group with chapters across the US, Canada and other countries
• Growth Hormone Replacement: MAGIC Foundation for Children's Growth
• Leukemia: Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation
